Section 1 discusses service bulletins and how they can sometimes provide a ‘quick fix’. If this fails then a thorough diagnostic should be performed using Section 3.

Section 2 provides guidelines for determining whether the transmission should be overhauled or replaced. It discusses the use of functional air checks for testing proper assembly of clutches and servos.

Section 3 discusses verifying the customer complaint,. Often times customers do not describe complaints in term that are useful. It includes a customer checklist to help service advisors and others to make a proper determination of the true transaxle condition.
