Ashcroft is the prefered test instrument of most manufacturers to test for exhaust restrictions because of their accuracy. They can accurately determine stoppage before it creates major driveability problems.
To use this tool, drill a 1/8 inch hole in the pipe forward of the suspected catalytic converter or collapsed pipe, insert the adapter, lower the vehicle and perform your testing. It includes stainless stell plugs to reseal the exaust.
This kit allows for the very quick testing and has a long flexible hose so that testing can be performed at different RPMs and load conditions, even under road testing conditions.
